    We heartily invite you to acquaint yourselves with the media footage of the latest breast and prostate cancer treatment methods that are conducted by the Greater Poland Cancer Centre. The Head of the Brachytherapy Department of the Greater Poland Cancer Centre, Janusz Skowronek, MD, PhD, Ass. Prof., and the Head of Brachytherapy Planning Lab, Grzegorz Zwierzchowski, DMSc, discuss the recent method, ie, Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) which uses SAVI applicators. What is more, the Head of the Epidemiology Department, Agnieszka Dyzmann-Sroka, , DMSc, informs on the epidemiology of these tumors.
  • Project HERO (Health Economics in Radiation Oncology)

    We are honoured to inform that two of our employees, Prof. Julian Malicki, and Dr. Marta Bogusz have become members of the task force HERO- a project of the European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). The aim of the project HERO (Health Economics in Radiation Oncology) is to obtain the current knowledge on infrastructure and employment in radiotherapy in Europe and to develop a model for assessing the cost of radiotherapy.

    During last November Dr. Piotr Martenka and Dr. Marta Bogusz- Czerniewicz visited the Institut Catala de Oncologia (based on grant awarded under the Technical Cooperation Programme, funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The purpose of the very grant (2010-2013) is to develop national standards of clinical, physical, technical and organizational radiotherapy. The visit at ICO was primarily devoted to organizational issues dealing with functioning of multidisciplinary teams and clinic (s) for patients with cancer in the same area (e.g. breast)
  • ACCIRAD - Guidelines on risk analysis of accidental and unintended exposures in radiotherapy

    We are pleased to inform that GPCC has won a tender as the lead contractor of the ACCIRAD project, which will be dedicated to establishing guidelines on a risk analysis of accidental and unintended exposures in radiotherapy. The leader of the ACCIRAD project is the Director of our centre, Professor Julian Malicki. The project itself comprises six Work Packages (WP1-WP6). The GPCC is responsible for WP1- supervision and management of the project, and WP6-organization of European Workshop.
