To help promote excellence in cancer management and care throughout Europe, ECCO - the European CanCer Organisation is pleased to announce that the Call for Applications for the ECCO - GlaxoSmithKline Excellence in Cancer Management Educational Award 2008 is now open.

Supported by GlaxoSmithKline Oncology, the Award has been designed to allow multidisciplinary cancer treatment teams to acquire training and benchmark with cancer treatment institutions recognised for their excellence and leadership on best practices.

Multidisciplinary teams involved with the overall management of oncology patient care are invited to submit a proposal which clearly identifies challenges or educational gaps in current treatment and care as well as define objectives, proposed outcomes and the direct benefits to patients resulting from the potential visit to the host institution proposed in the application.
