Sarcoma femoris after surgery

Case report:
Patient, 32 years old, with advanced sarcoma femoris, after surgical removing of almost total  tumour mass, was qualified for supplemental PDR Brachytherapy. Histopathology: Histiocytoma fibrosum malignum. In general anaesthesia during surgery 5 elastic needles were inserted in tumour bed. CT scans were made every 3 mm, then 3D treatment plan was prepared using PLATO system. PDR - BT was divided into two fractions, of 20 Gy each (25 pulses of 0.8 Gy/hourly, interval between fractions - one week). After 1 year of follow-up we observe complete local control.
